- Well if any of you have been keeping up.... and I know you have :) I
- finally got my system to working under 3.1. The solution was a leap of
- faith and I really don't know how it will affect the system. Anyway
- there are 2 jumpers on the 8.9 motherboard labeled J151 and J150. These
- are ROM Timing jumpers. They have two settings 25M and 16M. I assume
- those are for the 2 speeds that the Amiga 3000 came in.... 16mhz and
- 25mhz. Since my 3000 is a 25mhz ALL jumpers dealing with speed are set
- to 25M. Well I decided to see what would happen if I set jumpers J151
- and J150 to 16M instead. Well, I've been running 3.1 for at least an
- hour now with NO problems. I am still holding my breath. My system
- usually crashed within the first couple of minutes with 3.1 installed.
- Any comments on why this fixed my problem would be appreciated.
